Fhairplay is inspired by conversation worthy hairstyles.

It all began with the footballers. As a big fan of their trend defying hair cuts I wanted to create a sort of fantasy football team of hair to wear. Since the success of these legendary dos, I have gone on to embrace stars of tennis, art, music, cinema… and even royalty. The collection is ever growing with new capillary heroes.

I draw each portrait by hand, hair by hair using techniques learned as a textiles designer. On average each piece takes around 15 hours. Time for me to fall in love with each and every one.

Having studied fine art and fashion in the U.K. I moved to Paris over 20 years ago and have been lucky enough to work in costume, design and textiles design. Today my studio is in Montreuil where I paint, draw and research.

To print the illustrations I have carefully sourced the best quality t-shirts that are 100% organic cotton and certified fair-trade. The paper I have chosen for my signed numbered prints is top grade 100% recycled. All the digital printing is done locally using the best quality printers.
